About Us
Welcome to Fernwood Football Club, proudly rooted in leafy Claremont a southern suburb of Cape Town. We’re more than just a football club — we’re a family. A place where children, teens, and parents come together to grow, play, and thrive through the beautiful game.
At Fernwood FC, we believe football is for everyone. Whether you’re chasing competitive goals or simply looking to stay active and make friends, our doors are open all year round. We offer inclusive programmes for all ages and skill levels — from playful first kicks to structured league competition — all guided by our team of qualified, passionate coaches who specialize in grassroots development.
From the Acorn Club for our youngest players to our competitive league teams and holiday camps, Fernwood FC is a space where greatness grows — one kick at a time.
What Makes Us Different?
Hybrid of a Soccer School and Football Club: We blend structured coaching with grassroots development, creating a dynamic environment where children thrive. Our programs offer professional training, holiday camps, and tournaments for all skill levels—focusing not just on athletic growth, but also on character-building, teamwork, and community engagement. We’re committed to youth empowerment, inclusivity, and fun.
Family Atmosphere: Fernwood is more than a club—it’s a community. Parents, siblings, and supporters are part of the journey, cheering from the sidelines, volunteering behind the scenes, and celebrating every milestone together.
All-Year Football: Rain or shine, summer or winter—we keep the ball rolling. With seasonal camps, weekly training, and league play, there’s always a chance to play, grow, and connect.
Programmes for Everyone: Whether you’re 4 or 14, a future star or just looking for fun, we have a place for you. Our inclusive approach ensures every child feels welcome and supported.
Whole-Person Development: We don’t just grow players—we grow people. Our coaching philosophy nurtures confidence, resilience, and leadership both on and off the pitch.
Community-Driven Impact: We believe football can change lives. Through partnerships with local schools and outreach initiatives, we’re building a stronger, more connected community—one goal at a time.
